The Jobs Minister says Galway is an ‘easy sell’ in terms of foreign direct investment.
Minister Mary Mitchell O’Connor was speaking at the announcement of 100 new jobs in the city today by Australian tech firm, SiteMinder.
The company is opening a new office at the Portershed in the city before moving into a permanent premises in the Docks area.
SiteMinder helps hotels and other travel service providers to sell their products online.
The project comes one month ahead of SiteMinder’s 10-year anniversary, to support the company’s 20,000-strong global hotel customer base.
The Galway office will complement SiteMinder’s headquarters in London to service hotels both within the region and around the world, and will be the company’s fifth office along with Bangkok, Dallas and Sydney.
SiteMinder’s customer base in Ireland includes Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel and K Club, as well as Galway’s Connacht Hotel and The g Hotel and Spa.
