UHG is to set to benefit from extra nursing staff following a long-term deal brokered by the psychiatric nurses association.
The agreement at the Workplace Relations Commission has resulted in the lifting of six weeks of industrial action by PNA members.
Under the deal, 60 additional training places will be created for trainee nurses, and extra nursing staff will be employed at psychiatric units nationwide.
Minister for Health Simon Harris and Minister of State for Mental Health Helen McEntee have welcomed the progress.
Peter Hughes is General Secretary of the PNA and says the agreement is as key part of the future delivery of adequate mental health services at UHG and nationwide.
