Councillors will decide next month whether or not to approve a Part 8 planning application for a major social housing development in Tuam town.
The 30-property development at Weir Road would consist of a mix of two-storey houses and bungalows.
The dwellings would range in size from 2-bed to 5-bed properties.
The plans were brought before the County Council this week, and Tuam area councillors left the plenary meeting to discuss them in detail.
It’s understood councillors are still considering a number of details contained in the planning documents with regard to the layout of the new development.
The Part 8 documents will come before the full council again next month for decision.
The proposed homes will be built near The Potteries estate on the Weir Road.
It’s hoped that once councillors sign off on the Part 8 planning documents, the scheme can progress quickly, subject to department approval.
