A state-of-the-art new Audi car dealership is to be constructed in Briarhill Business Park, with the creation of ten new full-time jobs.

Brothers Neil and Kevin Connolly, who already operate Audi Galway at the entrance to the Business Park, have purchased a greenfield site at the very rear, in order to meet demands of Audi Ireland and to retain their franchise.

City planners have granted permission for the development on a 2.16-acre site, which includes a two-storey 2,320 square metre sales, parts and service building; a single-storey building for valeting and washing cars; 173 car display spaces

The new dealership buildings being rolled out nationwide are known as Audi Terminals.

“As part of Audi Ireland’s new corporate identity now being introduced to each dealership in Ireland, new standards are required for minimum showroom vehicle display area, new customer areas and facilities, new separate car handover area and new signage.

“Connolly Brothers are required to incorporate these requirements into their existing premises in order to retain their franchise.

“As a result of the proposed development, the current operations at Audi Galway facility at Briarhill Business Park will cease and be relocated to this new location. At present Audi Galway employ 26 staff. It is envisaged that employment levels will rise to 36 staff at this new location,” the application reads.

The Connollys also operate separate Audi and Volkswagen dealerships in Ballina and Sligo.
