GaMajor refurbishment works at Ballinasloe Garda Station are set to get underway in the New Year.
The project is part of a €60 million investment by the Department of Justice to rebuild and refurbish dozens of Garda stations nationwide.
Under the Government initiative announced late last year to enhance Garda stations across the country, significant works are to get underway at Ballinasloe Garda station in the coming weeks.
These will include the provision of enhanced office space, the upgrading of the reception area and the development of greater custody facilities.
A total of 30 stations nationwide will benefit from the 60 million euro fund – including a new divisional headquarters in Sligo/Leitrim and a new station at Dublin Airport.
In Galway, the initiative is also supporting a new unit for special victims at Mill Street in the city.
It’s expected that the works to upgrade and modernise Ballinasloe Garda Station will get underway in late January.
