Following his visit to South Galway last evening Taoiseach Enda Kenny has supported the idea of the digging of additional channels in the area as a long-term solution to take flood waters to the sea.
After meeting with victims of the flooding across an area of South Galway the Taoiseach then listened to the suggestion of providing additional water channels at a meeting in Kinvara last night.
Deputy Ciaran Cannon says the Taoiseach gave his support for this idea as a more permanent solution to help eliminate floods in the future in many parts of south Galway.
