One lucky Connemara lotto player has woken up half a million euro richer this morning after scooping the EuroMillions Plus top prize.
The winning quick pick ticket was sold at Siopa Dowd filling station in Carna on Thursday, the day before the draw.
The hunt is now on for the owner of the ticket and the National Lottery is advising the lucky ticket holder to sign the back of the slip and make immediate contact.
The €500,000 prize was the only major winning ticket in the country – with the next Irish winner claiming €2,000.
Shop owner Ronan Dowd says there’s been a lot of activity since the announcement.
