Lidl wins planning battle on Clifden delivery times

Galway County Council has been directed to amend a condition which restricted delivery times at store in Tullyvoheen, Clifden.
The German retail giant had appealed a condition set out by the local authority in an appeal to An Bord Pleanála.
County planners had stated loading and unloading would be limited to between 8am and 9pm Monday to Saturday, and from 10.30am to 7pm on Sundays.
In a first party appeal to An Bord Pleanála, Lidl Ireland had argued the condition attached by county planners effectively results in the permission being of no material benefit.
The board has now ruled that delivery times are to be restricted to between 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday, and from 10am to 10pm on Sundays.
In making its decision, it stated that the schedule would not seriously injure the residential amenity of adjoining property.
