Travellers who were illegally encamped at City Hall for the past few days have moved on and have set up an encampment at Ballyloughane Beach.
The nine families involved were served with a letter yesterday morning demanding that they remove themselves from the City Hall car park.
Residents in the Ballyloughane area contacted Cllr Neil McNeilis this afternoon and it was alleged that a bollard was cut down which had been stopping access by vehicles to a path there.
Local resident Cllr Terry O’Flaherty says all this moving to another illegal encampment is costing the taxpayer heavily and something has to be done about it at a meeting of the City Council this Monday.
But she pointed out that as there are a large number of people on the housing waiting list people can not be moved up to the front of the list.
