The controversial closure of a section of the Monivea Road will come into effect tomorrow (Monday)
The closure of the R339, between Cartymore and Cashla, resulted in over 470 submissions from locals.
Local residents feel that there was a lack of consultation about the planned closure.
The controversial R339 works are necessary as part of a tie-in with the Gort to Tuam motorway project.
The order will close the section of the road at Caherateemore South from its junction with the Castlelambert road to its junction with the R347, Athenry-Tuam Road at Coosaun Cross.
The closure will begin at 8am tomorrow and will end at 6pm on Monday April 11th.
Diversions will be put in place for the 3 week period.
