Gardai have preserved the scene of a fire at a house in Claregalway in the early hours of today.
Two units of the fire brigade, one from Athenry and one from Galway city, are still at the scene of the blaze in the house on the Roscommon Road, Claregalway.
The alarm was raised after 4.30 m and fire fighters were at the scene before 4.50am.
The fire was in a house which is understood to have been undergoing renovations and Gardai say they have sealed off the area and a forensic examination of the scene is to be carried out later.
