More than 100 Connemara ponies were sold to buyers across Europe at this month’s Connemara Pony Sales in Clifden.
The strongest interest came from buyers in Germany who purchased 29 of the iconic animals.
A further 27 ponies were snapped up by French buyers, while 24 went to Holland, 20 to the UK, 7 to Belgium and 3 to Sweden.
It follows the export of an entire Connemara herd to South Korea in March to establish a foothold for the breed in the far east.
