ESB Networks believe it could be a number of days before electricity is restored to Inis Meain and Inis Oirr.
A major undersea cable fault left the three Aran Islands without power shortly after 4.30 this morning.
Power has been restored to Inis Mór following this morning’s outage.
Almost 400 residents remain without power on the two smaller islands.
Crews are continuing to work to restore electricity to Inis Meain and Inis Oirr.
However, the ESB says due to the complexity of repairing undersea cables, both islands are likely to be without power for a number of days.
Any customers who use electrically powered medical devices should contact their healthcare professional to make alternative arrangements if necessary.
