It’s high season in tourism industry but the water pressure is often low in parts of Inishnee close to Roundstone, one of Connemara’s prime locations at this time of the year.
Among those who is affected by the shortage of water is long time summer resident, Christopher Dodd – a former United States senator and CEO of the Motion Pictures Association of the United States.
He wants a good system for the communities of west Connemara.
In a statement, Irish Water says it is not aware of any problems with the water supply in the area.
Inishnee was once an island – a bridge now connects the area to the mainland in Roundstone and Inishnee is a location for many holiday homes.
Senator Dodd has been coming regularly for well over 30 years and spending periods of time in Inishnee where he owns a house.
He is one of the residents affected by a water supply that is both unreliable and intermittent.
Senator Dodd says he is at one with other local householders who want a proper supply of water and he says that all west Connemara communities are entitled to that basic service.
