A firm which develops mathematical computing software is to establish a base in Galway with the creation of 50 jobs.
MathWorks, is to establish a shared sales and services centre in Galway, with recruitment already underway for 20 roles.
The company was founded in 1984 and is headquartered in Massachusetts.
More than 5000 colleges and universities around the world use MATLAB and Simulink for teaching and research in a broad range of technical disciplines.
The new centre in Galway will support the company’s EMEA markets across a range of customer-facing roles including sales and services support, inside sales, channel development and support, finance and administration.
The project is supported by the Department of Enterprise, Trade & Innovation through IDA Ireland.
Richard Haxby, Managing Director at MathWorks says Galway was selected due to its access to a diverse multi-lingual workforce, and its university system.
