Concerns are being raised over the impact of the construction of a windpark near Moycullen on local residents.
The works are part of the Galway Wind farm project, which consists of four permitted wind farms – at Seecon, Lettercraffroe, Cloosh and Uggool.
When completed, Galway Wind Park will be the largest onshore wind project in Ireland.
Senator Trevor O’ Clochartaigh says residents in the Doon East area are growing increasingly concerned with high levels of dust created by the works.
The Sinn Fein Senator also says traffic volumes – including at off peak hours – and the speed of vehicles are also a cause for concern.
Senator O’ Clochartaigh says residents feel the situation represents a health and safety issue that needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency.
