Childrens’ charity the Jack and Jill Foundation has issued a warning following reports of bogus charity collectors operating across the county.
It’s understood a number of males, purporting to be from the charity, have been calling to homes across East Galway in recent days.
A Jack and Jill spokesperson says the organisation does not collect door to door.
Galway Gardaí say if householders answer the door to charity collectors, they should ask to see a permit before handing over any money.
