Call for action on substandard Knocknacarra roadworks

City councillors have hit out at the standard of recent road works at Western Distributor Road.
The matter was raised at this week’s meeting where Fine Gael councillor Pearce Flannery described the road works as ‘shoddy and cheap’.
Fine Gael councillor Frank Fahy also raised concerns regarding the standard of works on Menlo Road.
Officials advised that the micro-surfacing was carried out to extend the life of the pavement and that more permanent works would be six times the cost, with no budget provision.
Councillor Flannery raised a motion calling on the executive to explore adequate road resurfacing for the Western Distributor Road and other areas where works were considered substandard.
