Six Galway business people feature on the latest list of tax defaulters issued by the Revenue.
A landlord from Clarinbridge tops the local list with a settlement of over €832,000.
Richard Larkin, a landlord from Main Street in Clarinbridge has the largest Galway settlement in this list of over €832,000 for underdeclaration of income tax and VAT and non declaration of capital gains tax.
This is followed by city firm Castle Ceilings & Partitions Limited of Unit 9G, Racecourse Business Park in Parkmore.
The joiners recorded a settlement of over €377,000 with Revenue for underdeclaration of income tax, VAT, relevant contracts tax and PAYE/PRSI.
Company Director Martin Redington of Knockatee in Dunmore recorded the next largest settlement of over €325,000 for non declaration of capital gains tax.
Helena Quinlan Reidy, a bridal wear retailer of Cahercrin in Athenry made a settlement of over €43,000 – a penalty determination by the courts relating to non declaration of VAT.
Holiday homes rental operator Augustine Hilty of Clonmoylan, Ballyshrule, Portumna made a settlement of over €39,000 for under-declaration of VAT and income tax.
The final Galway tax defaulter is listed as Christine Connolly of Unit 6, An Cregan in Bearna – the creche operator made a settlement of over €8,500 – a penalty determination by the courts relating to the non-declaration of income tax.
