An official sod turning will take place next week for the new Gaelscoil Mhic Amhlaigh building in Knocknacarra.
Gaeltacht Minister and Galway West TD Sean Kyne will officiate at the event.
Stewart was appointed as contractor late last year for the major building project, which had been subject to planning delays.
The new building will have 24 classrooms and capacity for 600 pupils, and will be located opposite the pitches at Millars Lane.
It will also have a library and resource room and special education classrooms, as well as 36 parking spaces.
The sod turning will take place at 3pm on Monday.
