A woman has been taken to hospital following a house fire in Athenry overnight.
The woman was taken to UHG as a precautionary measure.
Gardai were called to the scene at the house on the outskirts of the town at around 3am.
Two units of Athenry fire brigade and one unit of the city bridage also attended.
The blaze has now been brought under control.
Gardai are this morning preserving the scene for a technical examination.
