Up to 25 cars have been written off after being caught in an overnight flood in Toft carpark in Salthill.
Residents were this afternoon taking soaked belongings from their vehicles, some of which were found in water up to their windows this morning.

Residents in the area say they got no warning from the City Council that the car park would flood last night.
They’re also angry that when Toft Park flooded in the past, they’ve received parking tickets for parking elsewhere as advised.
The carpark is to remain closed for a number of days while council crews clear seaweed and debris from drainage pipes at the facility.
City Councillor Niall McNelis says he’s contacted the City Council to ensure that residents do not receive parking tickets while the carpark is closed.
