A syndicate of 18 staff members at the Portiuncula Hospital medical records office has scooped a Lotto prize of €500,000.
The winning Quick Pick ticket in the EuroMillions Plus draw was bought in the hospital’s Oasis shop yesterday.
The winners will share €500,000 – getting €28,000 each.
Trish O’Donoghue, manager of the shop said: “This is absolutely crazy! Since we opened the doors this morning, we have been inundated with well-wishers and hopeful customers who are checking their tickets! We are genuinely over the moon for whoever the winner is.
“As a hospital store, all of our customers will be directly associated with the hospital, either as patients, visitors or members of staff. It’s an amazing feeling that we can bring so much joy to the winners with this win,” she said.”
The winning EuroMillions Plus numbers were: 13, 15, 22, 25, 41.
