A woman remains in Garda custody this morning following a drug seizure in Knocknacarra yesterday.
As part of a joint operation between Revenues Customs Service, the Garda Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau and Gardaí from the Drugs Unit in Galway, a search took place at a house in the Knocknacarra area.
Around 4.7 kilograms of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of around €94,000 was seized during the operation.
The drugs originated in Cotonou, Benin in West Africa and were concealed in dried fish.
A 36 year old Irish woman was arrested at the scene and is being held at Galway Garda Station.
The investigation is on-going.
