A new fibre-enabled high speed broadband service is now available in Gort.
Broadband users in the South Galway town will now benefit from speeds of up to 100MB, which represents a significant improvement on the existing service.
Galway East Fine Gael TD Ciaran Cannon says the improved service will shortly be made available to other communities adjacent to the town.
The roll-out in Gort is part of a national programme worth almost half a billion euro to bring fibre broadband to 1.9 million homes and businesses across Ireland.
