An Australian technology firm hopes to continue to grow its presence in Galway, after announcing 100 new jobs at its city centre base this week.
SiteMinder – which provides cloud-based software for the hotel industry across the world and is backed by the same investors as Facebook, Netflix and Spotify – made the announcement with Jobs Minister Mary Mitchell O’Connor on Tuesday.
While there will initially be 100 jobs, the company expects “vigorous growth” in the industry and potential for expansion here.
The company will be initially based at the new PorterShed business ‘incubation hub’ off Eyre Square, before moving to a permanent premises.
The roles on offer will be for a regional sales manager, systems administrators, service desk analysts and sales representatives.
Minister Mitchell O’Connor said: “Such high-growth companies are an exact fit for our talented and ambitious graduates who wish to embark on an exciting career path.
“Galway is fast becoming a tech hub and SiteMinder is an exciting addition with the creation of at least 100 jobs, which will benefit the entire region and have a positive knock-on effect.
“As Minister my priority is to ensure an environment for jobs growth is developed right across the country and in particular the regions of Ireland. I wish the team the very best and I am sure that we will be hearing a lot more from this exciting company in the near future,” she said.
