UHG is advising people to expect delays if attending its Emergency Department today.
The hospital says it’s currently dealing with a busy period due to an increase in the amount of people suffering with flu and other seasonal illnesses.
UHG says it’s dealing with this busy period in a number of ways, including deferring elective surgeries.
There were 43 people on trolleys or in over-capacity wards this lunchtime.
In a statement, the hospital also issued an apology to patients and their families for any distress caused as a result of the delays.
